  Zhang Pengjie was born in Shandong province, PRC, 1975. He received her BSc in 1997 from Beijing University and PhD in 2003 from University of Toronto. He then became a postdoc at Fermilab. In 2005, he joined Shanghai Astronomical Observatory, Chinese Academy of Sciences as a recipient of the 100 talents program of CAS. He won the NSFC grant for National distinguished young scientists in 2010 and the Huang Su-Shu award of the Chinese Astronomical Society in 2012. His major research interest is theoretical cosmology, in particular the large scale structure of the universe and its applications in fundamental cosmological physics.
