Resume:

LIAO Xinhao received his Bachelor and Ph.D in Celestial Mechanics from Nanjing University in 1983 and 1989, respectively. He then served as a lecturer (1989-1992) and an associate professor (1992-1997) to study orbital Dynamics of celestial bodies in the Department of Astronomy, Nanjing University, and spent one year as a visiting scholar at Northwestern University, USA, in 1995 – 1996. He joined Shanghai Astronomical Observatory in 1997 as awarded by Hundred Talent Program of Chinese Academy of Sciences, and served as a professor of dynamical astronomy.  His research Interests include Planetary Fluid dynamics, Planetary Rotation, Celestial Mechanics, Orbital Theory of artificial satellite, Numerical Computation of differential equations. He has published more than 100 scientific papers in refereed journals, such as Physical Review Letters, Journal of Fluid Mechanics, The Astrophysical Journal, Icarus and etc. Currently, he is the chief of The Key Laboratory for Planetary Sciences, Chinese Academy of Sciences, and serves on expert advisory committee, division of Mathematics and Physics, National Natural Science Foundation of China.
